The trail

A.M  No sleep last night.  Wake up FREEZING cold! Geez...I need to rent a sleeping bag!  Today is a brutal 6 hour uphill hike--the worst apparently comes after lunch.

I learn that I hate going uphill behind slow people. It is warm in the sun but COLD when the sun is gone or it is windy. Im getting Kesir, my rented guide for the trek, to teach me some Nepalese. Both the guys from the British army and a French guy that just finished the trek commented during dinner at the teahouse last night how inappropriate my shoes were for the hike.  Hm.

I passed many people coming down the mountain today...they look so exhausted. Most have burnt faces and blistered noses, lips burnt black in places with pieces missing. Is this what I have to look forward too?  The British army group apparently are on this trek as a training exercise.  There are about 10 of them, mixed guys and girls and 3 instructors.  They are fun, I hope we stay at the same teahouse again!

Second day and Im already exhausted.
