Just wanted to do a quick post that I got into Bangkok safe and sound! Its crazy, I havent been here in years but when the bus pulled up I knew where I was and remembered how to get around. At first it felt like nothing's changed but after awhile of walking around I realized how so much more tourist everything was. The whole place buzzes with energy....its exhausting.

Had a WICKED flight from toronto to hong kong....i somehow lucked out with a bulkhead seat.... it seriously felt like first class! somehow I ended up with a vegan meal tho, which was really tasty but meant i got fruit for dessert instead of a brownie :( (...i got one from my neighbor ;)

I am now trying to figure out what i will do until my course starts....I would really like to actually start on monday so i am about to call and see if i can show up early :) we'll see what happens...if not i will probably head south to the beaches for a week then head north. just had breakfast with a couple nice girls from auz who are heading to chang mai too.

Waiting for the Chao Phraya river ferry

UPDATE: I hopped on an overnight train and ended up in chang mai this morning. its not as humid or busy here than in bangkok, which is nice, but it is still just another thai city filled with tourists and thai people catering to toursits....I feel like being a tourist is like a disease for these cities...we swarm in and ruin beautiful places and culture....

Met a few nice people on the train...a couple guys from BC and a couple from england. Turns out we were all trying to stay at the same guest house...one highly recommended by lonely planet as being a fun place for backpackers and cheap, which meant of course that it was full LOL turns out the place is so popular that they dont even care about whether you want to make a reservation or not at any time....we ended up finding a place down the road and are chilling tonight at the walking market.

Since I am going to be gone for a while, I figured it would be a good idea to set up somewhere that people could track where I was and what I was doing...and save everyone three months of brutal mass emails/facebook posts... :)

So this is it: My first ever post on a "blog."

I feel so techy.

(Man, I guess this means I cant make fun of Drew anymore...www.nollege.ca)

Cheers!
